The World Textile Information Network (WTiN), an events management and information company in Impington, England, folded its Digital Textile Conference into IMI Europe’s Digital Print Japan 2016 conference scheduled on December 13 in Tokyo. It is the first joint initiative by WTiN and IMI Europe, and the event will continue into a second day IT Strategies Executive Conference to explore commercial and industrial applications of inkjet technology. WTiN Intelligence, a publication exploring in-depth the textile printing business, reported that the global digital textile market grew 28 percent in 2015, with production of 1.2 billion square meters of printed fabric. Average compound growth of 17 percent a year is expected up to 2019. “Japanese technology is at the core of most digital textile applications,” says WTiN managing director Mark Jarvis. “WTiN has strong relationships with the companies that have pioneered this exciting market.”
