Glen Raven Custom Fabrics recycles 400 tons of packaging and reclaims 500 tons of raw material wastes each year at its Anderson, S.C., plant. That commitment to waste reduction won the company honors from the South Carolina Environmental Excellence Program (SCEEP). The one-million-square-foot Anderson facility, which manufactures the Sunbrella® brand of performance fabrics, also worked with the state on development of a regional air quality action plan. The voluntary SCEEP program recognizes companies for pollution prevention, energy conservation and re-use initiatives. Glen Raven is one of only 31 facilities in the state that have received the honor since the program’s creation in 1997. For more information, visit www.glenraven.com.
