Fabric distributors Nolan Warehouses, Springwood, Australia, and Upholstering Distributors Australia (UDA), Perth, Australia, are forming a new joint venture company, Nolan.UDA Pty. Ltd. Each firm will hold 50 percent of the merged company’s shares. “There is little customer overlap between the two businesses; therefore, there will be increased offerings and a larger relative stockholding, which is particularly beneficial to customers in the smaller regional states,” says Christopher Nolan, managing director of the new joint venture. Both companies supply textiles to industrial, commercial, marine and automotive manufacturers. Nolan also deals in commercial flooring, seating fabrics and medical mattress ticking. UDA’s expertise is bedding products, expanded foam and lofted polyester.
