A new Middle East office in Manama, Bahrain, will allow Dow Corning, headquartered in Midland, Mich., to offer its silicone-based materials to support construction, petrochemical, textile and oil and gas industries in the region. Dow Corning’s silicone construction materials (emulsions and sealants, for example) have applications in protecting buildings against sand, high winds and extreme heat. They were used in the construction of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Dubai. Textile applications for silicone include printing inks, textile sealants, silicone polymers and anti-foaming emulsions.
