Milliken & Company, Spartanburg, S.C., sold its Automotive Body Cloth division to a Milliken management group supported by an investment capital firm with automotive expertise. The new entity, Autotex, will continue to employ 1,000 of the 1,200 workers of the former Milliken division and will be headquartered in South Carolina. However, the deal will close the former Milliken Sharon Plant near Abbeville, S.C., which has 140 employees.
