Pink Phifer bag benefits breast cancer

Restoring New Orleans from post-hurricane devastation became a vigorous business concept for Traci Green, founder and “chief gatherer” of REpurposingNOLA Piece by Peace™, located in New Orleans’ warehouse district. The company’s Original Phifer Bag emerged from leftover Phifertex® materials found in the company’s main local production facility, a handbag made from repurposed materials such as vinyl wallboard straps, rope, fabric swatches and other non-traditional components.

REpurposingNOLA’s newest creation, the Pink Phifer, pays homage to the company’s head seamstress, a breast cancer survivor. The limited edition Pink Phifer (only 50 will be made) is available for $145, of which $100 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. The donation is consistent with Green’s “triple bottom line” business model: people, planet, profits. Available exclusively online at www.repurposingnola-piece-by-peace.com.
