[Fabric Images Inc.] Elgin, Ill., U.S.A.

Fabric Images fabricated an abstract representation of an “iron stomach” as an exhibit for a pharmaceutical company promoting the debut of a new product at a trade show in Chicago, Ill. The client required a lightweight, collapsible solution that could be assembled and disassembled to use at various shows and exhibitions. To create the strong visual impact needed to attract passing attendees, it was constructed from round tubing and skinned in Silver Spandex 499 from Associated Fabrics. A silver mesh was added to the top in compliance with convention center fire code regulations. The “stomach” housed theatrical lighting and tables, and sound domes were added to reduce noise inside. The project won a 2010 IAA Award of Excellence.
