Dodger and bimini allow sun-protected sailing

Marine, Projects | May 1, 2011 | By:

[SeaCanvas] Egg Harbor Township, N.J., U.S.A.

SeaCanvas created a traditional style dodger and a bimini connector that zips to the back of the dodger. The dodger’s zip-in, rigid polycarbonate forward windows can be completely removed, or just the middle window can be removed. One-quarter-inch stainless steel was used for the bimini because of the 130-inch mounting width. Easy to use zip-in cockpit screening adds sun protection at the dock, at anchor, or even while sailing. The customer was so pleased with the finished product that he also ordered a full winter cover for this 2009 Beneteau 40. The project won an IAA Award of Excellence.
