Biodegradable tarp material

Resources | October 1, 2011 | By:

My customer is looking for biodegradable tarp material. Is there such a thing?

Tarps are typically intended to withstand the elements, so biodegradability isn’t a particularly sought-after characteristic. Cotton is a natural material, so cotton tarps would be biodegradable, but we’re not aware of any synthetics that are specifically made for tarps that are biodegradable. If you know of one, please let us know and we’ll put it in a future column.
