At the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) ninth annual meeting, members elected William L. Jasper, chairman of the board and CEO of Unifi Inc., to a second term as NCTO chairman. James C. Self III, president and COO of Greenwood Mills, will serve his second term as NCTO vice chair. Jasper announced appointments to NCTO offices, including Cass Johnson as president and CEO. The NCTO is a national trade association representing the entire spectrum of the textile sector. The U.S. textile industry is one of the largest manufacturing employers in the U.S., with more than 390,000 workers in 2011, according to NCTO statistics.
