Simplistic furniture makes a clear statement

Scandinavian furniture design combines a tradition of fine craftsmanship and understated style, and the 2012 product announcements for Republic of Fritz Hansen™, headquartered in Allerød, Denmark, confirm the tradition. Award-winning Danish designer Cecilie Manz created the minuscule™ chair and table series for Fritz Hansen, using talents in furniture design and industrial production.

The minuscule seat shell is upholstered and hand-stitched in lightweight and durable textiles in multiple colors, from lively to muted. The shell is held by a base frame formed of plastic, available only in two tones of grey, a color that Manz says “is able to absorb all other colors.” The informal chair and matching table, with a top in Oregon pine or white laminate, adapts to home spaces or reception areas, hotel lobbies and airport lounges.
