DuPont sells Sontara nonwovens business

Jacob Holm & Sønner Holding A/S, a Swiss company that manufactures spunlaced nonwoven fabrics, will acquire DuPont’s Sontara business, says Marc Doyle, president of DuPont Protection Technologies. “We are pleased to see the business well-positioned for success in the future as part of Jacob Holm,” says Doyle. Sontara is a global nonwovens business with products used in medical and wipes applications. At closing, Jacob Holm will acquire Sontara assets in Asturias, Spain, and Old Hickory, Tenn., and will welcome 240 employees worldwide.
