Validating OEKO-TEX

Industry News | August 1, 2014 | By:

Complex supply chains make it difficult for companies buying materials, developing products or checking compliance to know whether certifications exist or are up-to-date. Now, there’s an “ap” for that. OEKO-TEX® has developed an application programming interface (API) that enables validation of certificate data to be integrated into online portals, cloud applications or databases used within a company. Textile-specific service providers can offer users additional information when searching for companies and products. “Our new interface will bring unique benefits to brands and retailers who need to monitor and manage a large number of certificates,” says David Pircher, business development manager. The API conveys data such as the validity, issue and expiration dates of OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificates, as well as the product class of the certified articles to be checked. It also displays the scoring result for a company’s sustainability assessment if the querying user has received a secure code.
