Breathable membranes

Royal DSM has partnered with Toyota Tsusho to provide a new generation of high-performance membranes for outdoor clothing using DSM’s Arnitel® VT, a flexible thermoplastic polyester-based elastomer. The new membranes are featured in Toyota’s Gelanots® product line. They are PFC-free, 100 percent recyclable, waterproof and highly breathable, keeping the wearer comfortable and dry. Unlike similar products, Arnitel VT does not rely on perforations to make it breathable, as perforated membranes can reduce strength and waterproofness. Because of this, it also acts as a barrier to bacteria and viruses.
