“Hot Technology for Cool Days” theme challenges students to create outerwear collection.

The Association of Textile, Apparel & Materials Professionals (AATCC) has announced its 2015 Concept 2 Consumer® student design competition.

The “Hot Technology for Cool Days” theme will challenge students to create a cohesive outerwear collection for an 18- to 30-year-old target consumer group, either male or female. Collections should include technology features in the fabric selection or product design, and designers are to use color palettes from Pantone Winter 2016 Trend Palettes.

Participants must be members of AATCC and can enter the contest individually or as a team. Students who are not currently members of an AATCC student chapter can join online by visiting the AATCC website. The first place winner is awarded a $1,000 Pantone Cotton Passport and a $100 Spoonflower gift certificate. Second place winners receive a $750 Pantone Cotton Passport and a $100 Spoonflower gift certificate. There are also two Honorable Mentions, each awarded $100 and a $50 Spoonflower gift certificate.

Entries are due April 9, with winners announced by May 22. To enter, send a pdf of the design storyboard to design@aatcc.org. Visit the AATCC website for complete contest guidelines.
