Trelleborg has installed a state-of-the-art Rapid Prototype Center (RPC) at its engineered coated fabrics operation in Rutherfordton, N.C. The miniature prototype equipment offers the latest technology in the rapid prototyping field, providing a valuable service to current and potential customers. The RPC reduces the time and cost of creating functional coated fabric samples that are highly correlated to large-scale production equipment. Trelleborg’s research and development team can design unique and customized lab samples for customers in the RPC that undergo stringent testing before moving to serial production. The new capability enables the company to work through the iterative development and qualification process more quickly and cost effectively.
