JEC Group, a global information and connection company in the composite sector, announced the winners of its Startup Booster Competition, the largest international startup competition in the composite sector, at JEC World 2018 in Paris. N12 Technologies won for vertically aligned carbon nanotubes at interlaminar interfaces for lighter and more durable composite structures. Inca-Fiber GmbH was recognized for an electroplating procedure to metallize carbon fibers in a single step using environmentally friendly electrolytes. These fibers can be used to create functional CFRP as well as new fiber-reinforced metals. Sound Bounce won for a patented material that provides more than 100 times better noise attenuation in a comparably smaller package.
