SEAMS SPRING NETWORKING CONFERENCE: May 8-10, 2019

This year’s conference will take place May 8-10 in Savannah, Ga. at the Westin Savannah Harbor
Golf Resort & Spa. Sessions will lead off with a Washington Update: “Competitiveness of the U.S. Sewn Products Sector,” from the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration.

Keynote Speakers

Day 1: A “special” guest representative
Day 2: “Sourcing Strategies for the Americas,” Aaron Ledet, vice president, VF-Americas Sourcing.
Other speakers include:
Guy Carpenter, president of Bear Fibers Inc., “An Overview of Hemp Production and Markets: Farm-Fiber-Fabric-Fashion.” This presentation will provide an overview of the exploding hemp industry while focusing on industry specific fiber, yarn, textile and apparel production.
Courtney Cruzan, business development manager, Everest Textile USA & Everest Apparel Haiti, “Scaling New Heights.” Why invest in U.S. textile manufacturing? Everest Textiles answered by building a state-of–the-art textile facility in Forestville, N.C.

Additional Sessions

Reshoring Award Presentation, by Harry Moser, president and founder of The Reshoring Initiative, and Will Duncan, SEAMS executive director. SEAMS and The Reshoring Initiative have launched the First Annual Sewn Products National Reshoring Award, open to all companies that have successfully reshored the sewing of any product to the U.S., accelerating the Made in America movement. Winners of the three categories will be announced.
Sustainability Panel: “What is sustainability and how does supply chain traceability help companies achieve their sustainability goals?” Panelists include Jennifer Crumpler, E3 cotton marketing and communications specialist, BASF; Dan Feibus, CEO, Vidalia Mills; Avedis H. Seferian, president and CEO, Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production(WRAP); and Moderator Bob Antoshak, managing director, Olah Inc.
