Dave DeWolf, parachute rigging instructor and owner of Elizabethtown, Penn.-based Para Loft Inc., passed away on May 22, 2019. DeWolf, known to nearly everyone as “Handsome Dave,” began skydiving in the Army in 1962 and jumped in every calendar year since, accumulating more than 13,000 jumps. He founded Para Loft rigger’s school in 1977 and taught more than 1,000 students how to pack reserve parachutes. At age 86, he was still actively involved in training senior riggers through his school. DeWolf was inducted into the National Skydiving Museum’s Hall of Fame in 2016.
