Footwear brand OESH® Shoes is using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) materials from Huntsman Corp., The Woodlands, Texas, for its 3D-printed recyclable soles. The shoe company, known for women’s footwear that offers additional health benefits, specifically wanted a sustainable product for the soles. Huntsman is a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated and specialty chemicals. The partnership’s goal was to determine if the TPU sole could be shredded and reused. OESH found that, when tested against virgin material, the recycled material performed just as well as the original sole. Photo: OESH Shoes.
