Created by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka, the AIRism 3D mask will be launched by Japanese brand UNIQLO early in 2022. The mask’s three-dimensional curved silhouette is designed to offer effective protection while resting comfortably on the face. The mask’s three layers include an inner layer of breathable mesh made with “AIRism,” a built-in nonwoven filter and an outer layer that blocks 90 percent of UV rays. AIRism is the company’s proprietary textile used in many of its products for its functionalities: moisture wicking, quick drying, odor neutralizing, breathable, stretchy and with a smooth and cool feel. The mask’s bacteria filtration efficiency is 99 percent and pollen filtration is also 99 percent. Photo: Tokujin Yoshioka.
