Texon and Umbro team up

Texon, a leader in performance fabrics and structural components for the footwear industry, announced it is working with Umbro, the global sports brand, on a world first in the design and manufacture of European football (soccer) boots. As part of a new collaboration, Umbro is integrating ProWeave into its production for Fall/Winter 22. ProWeave is Texon’s innovative jacquard weaving technology in which the pattern and colors are incorporated into the weave instead of being printed or dyed onto the surface of the fabric.

The ProWeave process can create different elasticity, tenacity and abrasion zones within the same weave.

The technology opens new creative possibilities that will enable footwear designers to place zonal features and other items such as logos exactly where they want them, reaping benefits for the wearer in terms of performance, movement and comfort.

ProWeave is being used exclusively in the European football boot sector by Umbro until 2023.
