Athletes and exercise enthusiasts have been training for a long time using weights, but that has generally meant carrying weights, or strapping them to legs or arms. Omorpho Inc., a Portland, Oregon-based start-up, has a better idea; it uses micro-weights embedded in clothing to increase resistance. The collection, Gravity Sportswear, strategically places small amounts of weight across the body. The company has announced that it recently closed a $6 million seed funding round. The investment was led by venture capital firm KB Partners, with significant participation from Greenchain Capital and MSG Sports. The latest funding brings the total investment in the company to $13 million. The brand was launched in November 2021.
