Runners rejoice: Nike releases self-ventilating jacket

Using the vents on most running jackets can be disruptive to runners, who must manually open and close them. The Nike Run Division Aerogami Jacket is designed to solve this problem with vents that open and close in response to moisture.

The jacket features vents across the back and the chest—the two areas where runners sweat the most. A film on the vents responds to sweat building on the skin. When a runner sweats, the vents open to release heat and increase airflow. Once the sweat dries, they close.

The auto-venting feature doesn’t rely on battery packs or other electronics, so it isn’t clunky and won’t ever need recharging. 

Available in a women’s and a men’s version, with different vent placement, the Nike Run Division Aerogami Jacket was released in fall 2023.
