Accelerating Circularity, a nonprofit focused on textile-to-textile recycling systems at commercial scale, and Performance Days are partnering to launch the Reality Zone™ rPolyester at Messe München on March 20– 21, 2024 in Munich, Germany, at the Performance Days Functional Fabric Fair. The Reality Zone™ rPolyester brings together the industry’s polyester recyclers and fabric producers capable of incorporating textile feedstocks into their processes and products. The goal is to provide all actors in the circular supply chain the ability to engage in textile-to-textile systems.
The event includes two workshops: T2T Recycled Polyester Essentials and the Reality Zone Recycled Polyester database launch. The workshops bring together experts in the development of equipment and technologies for mechanical, thermal-mechanical and chemical textile-to-textile polyester recycling. Workshop descriptions are below.
“The Reality Zone rPolyester is designed to highlight to the industry what is commercially available in rPolyester derived from textile feedstocks,” says Karla Magruder, president of Accelerating Circularity. “This information will allow companies to know where they can find and adopt rPolyester to meet their commitments for incorporating T2T recycled content and reducing their GHG impacts.”

Morning Session: T2T Recycled Polyester Essentials 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Afternoon Session: Reality Zone rPolyester Database Launch 3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Is it possible to source recycled polyester from textile feedstocks? Accelerating Circularity will be launching its Reality Zone rPolyester database with the who, what and where of thermal mechanically and chemically recycled polyester. Join this workshop to find out the reality of what is commercially available in recycled polyester from textile feedstocks and spend time with the experts on recycling and fiber formation of recycled polyester material. Speakers include Lycra, Gr3n, Carbios, Antex and Unifi.
