Customers of direct-to-consumer lingerie business Adore Me are designing their own fabric prints for bralette and panty sets, using just a few words input into the company’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) “AM by You” program.
“We are proud to get our customers more involved in the design process of their own pieces,” says Morgan Hermand, founder and CEO at Adore Me. “We are harnessing generative AI to deliver completely unique designs from start to finish.”
Through the brand’s use of Prompt.ly, a digital printer from manufacturer MAS, Adore Me prints each custom set on demand, nearly eliminating waste.
In its pilot phase, 70% of users experimented with more than one design description, averaging 5.4 prompts per session.
Founded in 2011 as an online lingerie startup, Adore Me became the first Certified B Corporation intimate-apparel brand in the U.S. In December 2022, Victoria’s Secret & Co. purchased Adore Me in part to modernize Victoria’s Secret’s digital platform.
In other AI efforts, Victoria Secret expects that Google Cloud’s AI this year will be used to analyze customer sentiment and data and drive operational efficiencies, such as through forecasting demand, ensuring timely inventory management and even assisting in human resources functions of providing employee onboarding and training programs. The company’s chatbot provides shoppers with tailored product recommendations and advice based on preferences and life experiences, and its AI-powered search feature uses Google Cloud’s Vision API Product Search technology to help users find a specific product simply by dropping an image into the website’s search bar.
