A collaboration between three companies has resulted in a biodegradable puffy down jacket. ALLIED Feather + Down, Active Apparel Group and Templa collaborated on the coat, which is made from biodegradable synthetic materials, including trims, and 800-fill-power down insulation. More than 99% of the materials degrade in an anaerobic environment after five years, backed by testing of Amni Soul Eco® by companies Solvay and CiCLO®. The small percentage that doesn’t biodegrade is a bit of metal in the zipper pull used for durability.
The unisex jacket will be available for winter 2025–2026. It was previewed at the ISPO Munich show in December 2024 among the award winners.
