EDANA, the international association serving the nonwovens and related industries, has published the “EDANA Statistics Report on Nonwovens Production & Delivery in Europe, 2016.” Available to members, the report offers detailed production statistics and market analysis. Data collected in the report establishes that the overall production of nonwovens in Greater Europe grew by 3.3 percent in volume in 2016 to reach 2,395,098 tons despite an uncertain economic climate. While growth in output in the European Union outperformed Greater Europe overall, some countries, including Germany, Italy and Spain all witnessed impressive development. In particular, Spain’s output grew by five percent. Those increases combined with Turkey’s stable performance, compensated for the minor decline recorded in some other European markets.
