The Outdoor Fabric Products Association of New Zealand (OFPANZ) announced that the association’s name will gradually change to Advanced Textiles Association New Zealand (ATA NZ) over the next year.
The executive board finalized the name change this month after it was initially approved by OFPANZ members at the OFPANZ 2023 Conference on Aug. 26, 2023, in Tauranga, New Zealand. It is intended to allow the association to be more inclusive and attract industry members who work outside of outdoor fabrics.
Along with the name change, ATA NZ has also modified its mission and vision statements as follows:
Mission: To work together to advance our business and industry.
Vision: The association provides its members with a forum to increase their industry knowledge, develop new skills, share experiences and connect with like-minded companies.
ATA NZ was established in 1988 and currently has more than 80 members. It represents organizations in canvas fabrication, sailmaking, vehicle trimming and upholstery, marine trimming and upholstery, and materials suppliers.
The association became a country chapter of the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) in 2008. It is also affiliated with the Specialized Textiles Association of Australia.
