
As part of its engagement with the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) Japan will host a group tour of the event May 16. Participants will visit key pavilions, receive guided explanations from industry experts involved in their construction, and exchange insights during a networking reception. International participants are welcome to join; membership in ATA is not required.
Among the pavilions on the tour will be numerous cutting-edge membrane structures, showcasing new materials and construction techniques, designed by architects from around the world. Members from Taiyo Kogyo Co. Ltd. and Yamaguchi New Shelter Industry Inc. will provide insights about the innovative pavilions.
That evening, ATA Japan will hold a networking reception and special presentation at Art Hotel Osaka Bay Tower. Hiromi Takatani from Taiyo Kogyo will give a presentation on membrane structures at World Expos from the past and present.
Registration is due to the ATA Japan office by April 23, and cancellations after that date are nonrefundable. Printable registration forms are available in Japanese and English. Participants may choose to attend the tour and networking reception both for ¥25,000 ($177) or one portion or the other.
The World Expo, held every five years, showcases new technologies and innovations addressing global challenges. With 158 participating countries, nine international organizations and numerous domestic/foreign companies, the World Expo 2025, running April 13–Oct. 13, is expected to attract more than 28 million visitors, bringing together innovative technologies and cultural exhibits under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
