Henderson Sewing Machine Co., headquartered in Andalusia, Ala., was established 50 years ago by James F. Henderson as a supplier of products to the apparel market. Current owner Frank Henderson joined his father’s company in 1976 after graduating from college with the goal of growing the company and continuing his father’s emphasis on customer service. At that time, the company had 10 vendor suppliers and 150 customers in Alabama. Today, the company has 30 employees and supplies industrial sewing machines, parts and custom-manufactured automated sewing stations and devices to more than 70 different sewn products manufacturing sectors. The company has more than 6,000 customers in the U.S. and 34 other countries.
