OMNOVA Solutions’ performance chemical facilities in Mogadore and Akron, Ohio, won the 2010 Award for Excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Performance from the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council in April 2011. OMNOVA, a manufacturer of emulsion polymers, reduced its city water use by almost 20 percent, well water use by almost 40 percent and wastewater discharge by more than 40 percent between 2009 and 2010. The water conservation project is part of OMNOVA’s Vision 2014 sustainability commitment to reduce the environmental impacts of its operations and offer products with environmental benefits.
