Dr. Peter Dinsdale, a retired specialist in the fiber, textile and garment industries, will lead The Textile Institute, Manchester, U.K., an international network of professionals in the fiber, fabric, garment, footwear, interior textile and technical textile industries. Dinsdale recently retired as principal textile industry specialist at the World Bank/International Finance Corp., where he continues in an advisory role. He also serves as chairman of Trigon Diligence Ltd., a London-based consulting firm, and is visiting professor at the School of Materials at the University of Manchester. He holds a Ph.D. in Textile Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics. Chairman-elect for 2013 is Helen Rowe, a 40-year member of The Textile Institute and acting head of the Department of Clothing Design and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University. The Textile Institute issues an internationally recognized credential for textile licentiates (LTI), associates (CText ATI) and fellows (CText FTI).
