Swedish university introduces textile “Cluster 7”

The University of Borás has unveiled the new home of the Swedish School of Textiles, located in a hub of textile businesses called the “Cluster 7” Textile and Fashion Center. “’Cluster 7’ Textile and Fashion Center shows our strength in the textile field and establishes Borás as a nationally leading and internationally very competitive region,” says rector Björn Brorström. The co-location of the university’s textile expertise within an emerging city textile district will lead to “inspiring and leading fashion design, new business models for textile and fashion enterprises, and advanced material science and material development,” according to Brorström. The Swedish School of Textiles took over the former factory of AB Svenskt Konstsilke.
