D30 announces new headquarters

Industry News, News | August 10, 2015 | By:

D3O, a U.K.-based developer of smart materials specializing in impact protection and shock absorption, has opened a 28,000-square-foot global headquarters in Croydon, England, called The Lab.

The company received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for export and was awarded 13 million euros in growth capital funding in April 2015 from new investor Beringea LLC (U.K. and U.S.) and existing investor Entrepreneur’s Fund to support the further expansion of the company’s impact protection products and international market growth.

The funds enabled D3O to invest in new headquarters with a dedicated innovation, development and testing center. Further investment is being made into machinery, and the large new office will allow space for D3O to expand its team of chemists, engineers and designers.

D3O has a unique patented technology used to make a soft, flexible and distinctive orange-colored material with high shock absorbing properties that is used in impact protection products. The D3O technology is licensed to the company’s global customer base in footwear, electronics, sport, motorcycle, industrial workwear and military and law enforcement markets.
