Easy-cleaning, low-friction Packa-Tex™ Tyvek® is used for returnable packaging, offering a single-source solution for product transport. As a cost-effective alternative to disposable packaging products, it’s a flexible method of transporting products such as automotive parts, postal packages, glassware and other fragile components. The pouch fabrics, offered in a variety of styles and colors, conform to virtually any product shape, providing protection from hard or abrasive surfaces.

Extended lifecycles

Duravider RS, 14- and 18-ounce, is a fabric that can reduce lifecycle costs on athletic and industrial curtains. The sequentially-staggered RipStop yarn prevents small snags from becoming major tears. The fabric meets NFPA701 standards, is UV stabilized and inhibits mold and mildew.

Packa-Tex™ BT-1 and BT-2 is a soft-sided brushed tricot alternative for returnable packaging. Available in single- and double-sided constructions, the fabric performs more than 50 percent better in ASTM751 testing than the leading competitor.

Indoor/outdoor durability

Beyond Blue Designed Fabrics collection from Phifer Inc. blends shades of blue with flashes of neutrals and cool metal tones, evoking images of celestial vistas and deep ocean excursions. Fabrics feature plush, 100-percent recyclable GeoBella® Cushion Fabrics and sleek, sling Phifertex® Outdoor Fabrics, offering the comfort of indoor furniture but with the stability, strength and durability needed for outdoor cushion applications. Phifertex for sling applications can be used in awnings, umbrellas, pillows and new fabric applications.

Interior sun control fabrics provide a tested balance of light, comfort and beauty, a window-covering solution for both residential and commercial spaces. SheerWeave® 7400, GREENGUARD certified, has a subtly textured face, emulating the look of natural fibers, and a unique foamed backing, the latest addition to Phifer’s range of blackout fabrics.

SheerWeave 7450 is a complementary range of light-filtering fabrics that uses the face fabric of Style 7400; it provides indoor privacy while allowing the function and beauty of natural light. Both styles are 100 percent polyester for durability and easy maintenance, available in widths up to 118 inches.

Printable organza

Amaike Super Organza can be printed on and used to create custom prints directly from photographs or designs. The light, thin fabric can be used in dye sublimation printing to make fade-resistant prints. Available in two weights: 5 and 10 grams per square meter. The fabric can be used in clothing, sportswear, interiors and industrial applications.

Combining aesthetic appeal and multiple applications, including military apparel, DNB267 3D channel spacer fabric offers innovative solutions to a variety of problems. Apex Mills is able to design two distinct fabric surfaces along with the variability of connecting spacer yarns and thicknesses, tailoring fabrics to applications and working with customers to design the appearance of both the top and bottom layers, which may require separate performance and aesthetic qualities.

Stability and cushioning

DNB257A adds breathability, stability and cushioning to automobile and manufacturing fabrications. The three-dimensional warp knit is anti-microbial.

VYNGUARD® Performance Coatings add the benefits of abrasion resistance, UV inhibitors, stain resistance, dirt shedding, moisture resistance and fungal resistance, used with vinyl, fabric and leather. Useful in the automotive, marine, outdoor building products, contract seating and wall coverings markets, the coatings are easy to apply, offering improved surface tension for a softer, smoother finish. Other advantages include superior color fastness, high-definition print reception, good dot gain properties and excellent adhesion.

Uninsulated valves and fittings in institutional mechanical rooms can lead to worker injuries and wasted fuel costs. The Ever Green® Cut’n Wrap™ system is made up of high-temperature textiles and insulation composite that are formed into modular insulation blankets. The fabric is removable and reusable and can insulate components up to 500°F. Components can be measured, fabricated and insulated all at once and on site.

Developed for heat-resistant safety clothing, AMI-FLEX® (AFL) is made of aramid fibers with fiberglass support and laminated on one side with a special aluminized polyester film. Aluminized AMI-FLEX is effective for mid-range temperature applications.

AMI-GLAS® (AGL) is made of 100 percent continuous filament fiberglass with an aluminum foil lamination on one side. Unlike a metalized film, the lamination is done with a .001-inch aluminum foil for overall temperature resistance. The foil is designed to stay intact even after exposure to direct heat. A ravel-resistant coating can be applied to one side to further enhance die-cutting operations. AMI-GLAS is rated to 450°F (232°C).

AMI-TUF® TR is a translucent, flexible heat and fire barrier recommended for fire, smoke and spark containment. It was developed for use in data center protection, hot and cold aisle containment and as a see-through hot work containment enclosure. It meets the requirements of NFPA 75 and 76.

A composite of fabric and insulation, FireQuilt™ is FM-approved as a curtain, blanket or pad, useful in hot work for industry and construction (welding, grinding, brazing) and for craftspeople working with molten metals. Reusable and transportable, it has a patented modular design that allows for easy folding and fits in any tool chest. FireQuilt is also water-, grease- and dirt-resistant.

Canwil Textiles has launched a new line of inherently flame-retardant (IFR) polyester fabrics for event, stage and drape applications. Line includes: IFR banjo, used in expositions and trade shows; IFR voile, a lightweight wide-width sheer fabric for events and parties; IFR velour, a heavyweight velour used in stage applications; and IFR Poly premiere, a mid-weight polyester fabric for table skirting and pipe-and-drape.

Laundry tough

Aratuff™ is a meta-aramid woven fabric used in the laundry industry. With high temperature resistance, Aratuff is dipped for added strength and abrasion resistance and brushed for a rough finish to grip laundry and linens. Primarily used in flatwork ironers, Aratuff is available in 80- and 130-inch widths.

Safe styling, wall to floor

Versatile textiles for floor tiles, wall-to-wall flooring and walls are made with proprietary TerraStrand® yarn, made from renewable vegetable content and phthalate-free. Available in White with Gold (pictured) and White with Silver, the fabrics contain Microban® antimicrobial protection to fight stains and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. The matte white yarn is combined with varying shades of gold (or silver), a metallic exploration in style that appears sundrenched and bleached.

Featuring a hybrid construction of high-energy dyed polyester and solution-dyed nylon, Mod provides both high performance and colorful aesthetics for high-traffic areas, and is recommended for health care facilities. The polyester allows for complex textures and saturated colors, and the nylon adds durability, color fastness and bleach cleanability.

Made by “recycling recycled” panel material, Boucle Two-Tone upholstery fabric is designed with sustainability in mind. The high-performance, durable and sustainable fabric can contribute to LEED certification. Available in 15 colors, Boucle Two-Tone is intended for contract and hospitality applications.

Stingray faux leather upholstery fabric has a soft and supple hand, due to the Enduratex™ Q1 backing, with a subtle pattern and a pebbly texture with a pinpoint-like appearance. Designed for the contract and hospitality markets, the fabric resists stains from materials like mustard and ink—and the new FORBID SRT topcoat also resists blue jean dye transfer.

Upholstery: Life and luster

Cava polyurethane upholstery fabric offers a wide-ranging and versatile color palette, supported by Produratect topcoat protection that doesn’t change the supple hand of the fabric. Tough enough for contract applications, Cava
is available in 26 fashion-forward colors.

A vinyl upholstery fabric designed for the automotive market, Phantom has a Q1 backing that gives it a soft hand and makes it easy to work with, with the proprietary topcoat Produratect to maintain the fabric’s appearance. Its bold color pop on the edging and perforations gives it a distinctly sporty feel.

Steps, a vinyl upholstery fabric for contract applications, is enhanced by Produratect Plus topcoat and supported with an Enduratex knit backing. A roto-gravure, three-color print program is offered, with stocking program and a custom program with 200-yard minimums, per SKU.

For a variety of interior spaces that require sound control, ezoBord is a flexible, tackable solution offered in 15 standard colors. Made of 100 percent polyester, no special safety equipment is needed to handle the material, and it is Class A fire-rated based on ASTM E84.

Attention-grabbing graphics

GF 2000 Rebound is Fisher Textiles’ anti-skid printable carpet for corporate and promotional events, trade show floor graphics, retail displays and floor mats. The textured-pile carpet has a 16-ounce washable black basket weave backing and is engineered for dye sublimation and UV-curable printers. Available in 63- and 126-inch rolls, GF 2000 Rebound is fire-retardant and resists footprints.

DD 6788 MoJo® is a backlit fabric that pairs well with SEG systems due to its slight stretch for a tight fit in aluminum framing systems. The fabric is compatible with several ink systems, plus its wrinkle-resistant properties allow for easy shipping. DD 6788 MoJo is engineered for light dispersion and presents vivid printing when amplified with backlighting.

GF 6732 Apollo® is Fisher Textiles’ backlit fabric for retail and SEG prints that require bright white graphics. The fabric is flame-retardant, weighs 3.2 ounces and is stocked at 120 inches wide. Fisher Textiles recommends that GF 6735 Diffuse be used behind GF 6732 Apollo to enhance the printing and prevent hot spots. Free sample rolls are available for testing.

Commercial FR 300 is designed for use in a wide range of architectural and small-scale structural applications, such as tension structures, awnings and shade covers. Specialized lock-stitch knit is made from stabilized yarn and constructed to block up to 95 percent of harmful UV rays for durable shade protection, as well as meeting CSFM standards. All Gale Pacific shade fabrics are 100 percent lead- and phthalate-free, and have been granted Oeko-Tex® 100 and Greenguard® certification.
