Making web slings

Resources | September 1, 2009 | By:

Are there any recommended industry practices for making web slings?

Web slings are lifting tools made out of webbing. They’re used for heavy goods and are particularly suited for lifting items that have a surface that might be damaged by other lifting products. Safety is a big concern for the manufacture and use of web slings, and the Web Sling & Tie Down Association has developed a number of standards that guide manufacturers in the webbing and thread used, as well as the construction of the slings themselves.
