The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) recognizes work sites that demonstrate exceptional safety, health and environmental practices. The General Electric (GE) energy production facility in Slater, Mo., received an award of excellence for its outstanding commitment to employee protection. VPP facilities such as the GE Slater site have gone beyond normal compliance with OSHA regulations to provide enhanced health and safety protection for workers.
