Schoeller Textil AG and Formosa Taffeta Group celebrate ten years together

Industry News | May 17, 2011 | By:

Ten years ago, a leading textile technology company, Switzerland-based Schoeller Textil AG, and the Formosa Taffeta Co. Ltd., one of the largest worldwide textile producers, joined forces in a joint venture. “This has proven to be the right decision,” agree Hans-Jürgen Hübner, CEO of Schoeller Textil AG and Shih Ming Hsie, president of Formosa Taffeta Co. Ltd. “The combination of Swiss expertise, the most modern technology and production capacity in Taiwan results in perfect conditions for manufacturing innovative, competitive products,” said Eric Chen, COO Schoeller FTC (HK) Ltd.

Swiss and Taiwanese textile designers and technical developers cooperate closely through teamwork and at creative meetings. This results in two collections per year, featuring the latest high-tech fabrics with a high level of functionality, used primarily in sportswear, casual wear, fashion and workwear. A range of finishing technologies, many of them distinguished with various design prizes, such as 3XDRY® (moisture management), NanoSphere® (water and dirt repellence), coldblack® (UV and heat protection) or the bionic c_changeTM climate membrane (wind and waterproof) equip the fabrics with intelligent additional functions.

Further specialties of the sftc collection are ultra-light, 100 percent “down-proofed” textiles for down jackets, so densely woven that even the smallest of feathers cannot protrude. The head office of Schoeller FTC Joint Venture is located in Hong Kong, and the sftc fabric collections are represented globally by the sales organizations of Schoeller Textil AG. Schoeller FTC was also the first Asian company to receive bluesign® certification, and most of the collection complies with the world’s most stringent ecological textile standard.
