Celebrating “The Simpsons” under screaming yellow

Projects, Tents | June 1, 2012 | By:

After 23 years of cartoon mayhem, Matt Groening’s subversive, long-running animated comedy, “The Simpsons,” celebrated its 500th episode about the family travails of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. In February, FOX network challenged super-fans to a continuous viewing contest in an all-things-Simpson tent at the Kodak Theater Complex, Hollywood, Calif. The custom-built screaming yellow clearspan tent roof featured a Simpsons logo large enough to be seen from outer space.

Hollywood Tentworks, Pacoima, Calif., installed the 40-by-60-foot tent, along with its custom-printed vinyl roof panels and sidewalls. The Losberger Multiflex P7 structure, manufactured by the Losberger Shanghai Company Ltd., Shanghai, China, includes installation of glass wall and door panels, allowing tent users to see and be seen. Hollywood Tentworks applied Simpson stickers to the walls and doors to add to the impression that there were Simpsons in the crowd.
