Fabritecture is Specialised Textiles Association 2012 Overall Award Winner

Fabritecture, the Tweed-based specialist fabric structure company, was recently recognised by its industry peers at the Specialised Textiles Association Annual Awards for Excellence 2012, held at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. Each year these awards recognise excellence in design and innovation, highlighting truly spectacular work in the specialty fabrics industry. Entries are judged by industry experts and winners are selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function.

Fabritecture was recognised as the “Overall Award Winner” for the Caxton Street Nightclub project in Brisbane. This award is presented to the Award for Excellence project that has attained the highest judging score of all submitted projects across all nine categories. The company was also acknowledged as the winner in Category 6: Tension Structures (coated fabrics) greater than 500 square meters as well as in Category 7: Tension Structures (coated fabrics) less than 500 square meters for the Caxton Street Nightclub roof.

These winning projects, according to Fabritecture, will be submitted to the IFAI International Achievement Awards competition, with winners to be announced at IFAI Expo Americas 2012 in Boston, USA, Nov. 7–9.
