The major portion of the global composite market consists of thermoset materials, and Koninklijke TenCate NV, Almelo, The Netherlands, recently acquired Amber Composites Ltd., an English manufacturer of composite materials, to increase its capacity. TenCate Advanced Composites in the U.S. and Europe produce thermoset composites for aerospace applications, and by adding Amber Composites will lower process costs and speed processing time for thermoset plastics, allowing TenCate to expand into new markets.
