The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and FORTUNE magazine recently named the 100 fastest-growing urban businesses in America, and Mahaffey Fabric Structures, Memphis, Tenn., ranked 85 on the list. The Inner City 100 recognizes successful companies and CEOs as role models for entrepreneurship, innovative business practices and job creation in America’s urban communities. To qualify, companies were required to have at least 51 percent of their operations located in an economically distressed urban area, have at least 10 full-time employees, and produce revenues that met certain growth targets. Mahaffey Fabric Structures markets temporary, portable structures in North America and the Caribbean and installs more than 400 structures a year.
