Martex Fiber installs reclamation line

Industry News | July 1, 2014 | By:

Martex Fiber recently expanded its Spartanburg, S.C., plant capacity by more than 20 percent by installing a fiber reclamation line to produce additional value-added fibers for use in the automotive, upholstery and yarn sectors. The expansion is part of the company’s “No Fiber Left Behind” program, which saves textile waste from landfills by ensuring that all waste purchased by the company will be recycled. In addition, the company is expanding its Brownville, Texas, facility, increasing capacity by 11 million pounds annually. “At Martex we are in the double green business. Our focus is on expanding a business that is sustainable economically and for the environment,” said Rick Otero, CEO.
