New statistics gathered by small business mentoring organization SCORE show the importance of mobile optimization for small business websites and how small business owners can convert mobile visitors into customers.

According to the data, consumers use their smartphones to make buying decisions at every step of the purchasing process, and not catering to this portion of the population can significantly affect a business’s revenues. Tips for effectively serving mobile shoppers include capitalizing on local search terms and designing emails and ads for mobile, as mobile ads get 10 times the redemption rate of traditional coupons.
