Full color palette presented in PP, polyamide and polyester fibers.

Specialty chemicals company Clariant has released ColorForward Interiors 2016, the third annual trend and color forecasting guide for the fiber and textile market.

Expanded this year to reach those serving the carpeting, upholstery, automotive and interior decoration sectors, the tool defines four trends expected to attract consumer attention in the next few years. It also creates a color palette for each trend.

For the first time, the portfolio includes not only pompons made of polypropylene (PP) and polyamide (PA) fibers, but also “wrap cards” with polyester fiber samples. The polyester fibers are produced as air-textured yarn (ATY). All fibers are dope dyed or spin dyed using Clariant masterbatches (color concentrates) to impart color to the yarn.

The trends are: Liquid Minds, which represents taking bold risks and includes an aqua blue; Oh, my go(l)d, which represents outrageous behavior and includes lime green and gold; Love, which is spelled using a WiFi symbol to represent the merging of technology and human life and includes warm colors such as brown and coral pink; and Work It Girl, which represents feminism and includes a red-orange shade.
