German nonwoven manufacturer Sandler AG is opening a manufacturing plant in Perry, Ga., in 2016.
Family-owned and operated, Sandler is active in both durable applications, such as automotive and filtration, and disposables, including personal hygiene and wipes. The company runs one of the largest production sites for nonwovens in Europe, employing 650 staff and reporting a sales volume of $346 million for 2014.
“We are excited about the support from both the municipality and the state of Georgia,” says Tobias Baumgaertel, designated president of Sandler Nonwoven Corp. “Together we are planning a program geared toward training new U.S. employees to become nonwovens experts.”
Sandler also continues to expand in Schwarzenbach, Germany, spending 48 million euros on new buildings and a new production line this year.
