AATCC encourages education and discussion on wearable technology and electronic textiles

The Association of Textile, Apparel and Materials Professionals (AATCC) is encouraging the electronic segment of the textile industry by sponsoring and participating in upcoming workshops. It is also partnering with the WEAR Conference, the longest-running conference series dedicated to smart textiles, wearable technology, material innovation and the business of consumer experience.

Upcoming workshops, meetings and conferences:

Standards for Wearable Technology and Electronic Textiles Workshop
[March 8–9 | Raleigh, N.C.]
This two day workshop will include talks and panel sessions that will help identify challenges related to standards for wearable devices and textile electronics standards development. Learn more.

AATCC Committee Meetings
[May 10–12 | Research Triangle Park, N.C.]
The explanatory committee on Wearables will meet to finalize scope and priority action items. The group has proposed the title: Wearables—Electronically Integrated Textiles, and the scope: to develop methods and terminology for testing electronically integrated textiles. AATCC committees meet twice per year and most are open to interested individuals. Learn more.

WEAR Conference 2016
[May 24–26 | Boston, Mass.]
AATCC will be a media partner in this year’s conference and representatives will share information and be available for discussion at the AATCC table onsite. Learn more.

Workshop on Smart Textiles
[June 26 | Chicago, Ill.]
The goals of this workshop are to identify new opportunities for standards in the emerging industry segment and to educate those in the areas of smart textiles by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas.
