Outdoor furniture with warm embrace

When it comes to relaxing on a patio or by a pool, the comfort of the outdoor furniture is an important component of the experience. German designer Sebastian Herkner had this idea in mind when he created MBRACE, a stylish chair with an extra-wide back that wraps around the body, providing the feeling of a cocooning embrace.

The collection includes a wingback, lounger, rocker and optional footstool to create a space that feels more like an outdoor living room. The chairs are comfortable alone or can be combined with optional cushions.

Designed for DEDON, a Luneberg, Germany-based manufacturer of handcrafted outdoor furniture, MBRACE combines DEDON’s fiber seating with a solid teak base. The chairs feature an open mesh-like triaxial weave consisting of three different fibers, each with its own profile and color.

Herkner and DEDON worked in close collaboration with world-renowned colorist Giulio Ridolfo to develop colors that inspire a sense of travel, trade and adventure. They named them Spice, Pepper and Atlantic.
