The U.S. Industrial Fabrics Institute (USIFI) and Narrow Fabrics Institute (NFI) held their annual Lobby Day on June 22, 2016. The day began with meetings with the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative (USTR) regarding trade issues impacting the U.S. textile industry. The day continued with five meetings with Representatives and Senator’s offices. Representative Walter Jones and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse attended the meetings. The day concluded with a meeting with two staffers from the Senate Armed Services Committee representing Senator Jack Reed. USIFI and NFI targeted their efforts at continuing to support the interests of their members, particularly with strong U.S. military manufacturing.
